GREEN GASEOUS HYDROGEN
The opportunities
Only green hydrogen is truly climate-neutral in the long term. Because only green hydrogen can be produced on a large scale and without fossil raw materials.
Hydrogen is colorless and odorless and, produced with renewable energy, the only natural and environmental neutral energy carrier.
Hydrogen is the most common chemical element in the universe with a mass fraction of around 70 % in the universe. On earth its mass fraction is only 0.87 % but this still accounts for 52 sextillion tons of reusable hydrogen.

Liquid or gaseous storage
Aggregate states of hydrogen
At ambiant temprature hydrogen is gaseous - at temperatures below 21.15 K (-252 °C), hydrogen condenses into a clear, colorless liquid. This state is abbreviated as LH2.
Liquefaction alone requires a third of the energy needed to produce hydrogen. Therefore, Energie Independence's current goal is to focus primarily on compressed gaseous hydrogen (CGH2).

Economic efficiency and application
Industrial use
Hydrogen makes sense wherever electricity is gray or expensive.
It can be applied in Hydrogen fuel cells (usally for electric mobility) or to be used as fuel gas in industrial and domestic applications.
Typical industries would be:
- Cement
- Steel
- Energy production
- Fluid bed applications
- ....
Utilisation of existing technology and infrastructure
Feeding Piplines & Shipping
The Energy Endependence harvested Hydrogen is delivered at 250 - 350 bar in gaseous phase, to ben the fed to piplines or to be furteher compressed and cooled to achieve liquid hydrogen (LH2) for long haul transport.
If we do not follow the way of liquefy hydrogen and we save on cooling the hydrogen to below 21.15 K (-252 °C). And this has two major advantages:
- Firstly, we can produce hydrogen a third more efficiently and
- secondly, we can use existing pipeline infrastructures.
